Breakups are the kinds of things that you simply have to deal with regardless of how difficult it is for you to get through situations like these. The fact of the matter is that breakups are just a part of life, and while that won’t do much to help you recover from the loss that you are experiencing it is a hard reality that you need to come to terms with.
The thing about dealing with breakups is that a lot of the activities that people resort to when they are trying to get over someone are rather destructive. Some people turn to alcohol to numb themselves, other people throw themselves into other relationships without fully getting to know the people that they are getting involved with and both of these things are not very healthy at all for a wide variety of reasons.
You shouldn’t turn to alcohol or drugs to help avoid feeling what you are feeling, and the best course of action would be to try and stay single for at least a little while. One reason why you should try and remain single is because of the fact that when you do so you will start to learn a lot about yourself that you might not have been aware of previously.
Breakups happen for a reason, and getting a bit of palate cleanser by staying single for a period of time is the sort of thing that would allow you to get into your next relationship from a much stronger position, one that would not force you to compromise on who you are as a person.
Breaking up is not something that will prevent you from ever being happy again if you try hard to get over it.
